I have had personal contact with Arianna Huffington, and a friend of mine used to work for her. However, I have never spent enough time with her to have a drink, I only see my friend once or twice a year, and we have only spoken of his time with her on one occasion. I have never communicated with her through my friend, nor have the three of us conspired on anything. However, if you noted my acquaintance with her, my friendship with someone who worked for her, the fact that we turn up at some of the same political conferences, and the fact that both of us have supported certain causes, you might create the impression that we were in league. Isn't that the essence of McCarthyism, guilt by association and innuendo?
