SpeedUs.com new name for CellularVision -- SpeedUs.com: a New Broadcast ISP for Super High-Speed Internet in New York
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 1999--SpeedUs.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPDE - news) today announced it has completed its name and trading symbol change from CellularVision USA, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ:CVUS). The name change highlights the super high-speed Internet services the Company is broadcasting to parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. The Company has dedicated its 450 MHz FCC LMDS license and infrastructure to deliver its SPEEDsm super high-speed Internet service in metro New York. SPEEDsm uses a 48 Mbps (48,000 kbps) downstream Speedsm modem, which has approximately 1,700 times the downstream capability of a standard 28.8 kbps modem.
The name change will not affect the validity of currently outstanding stock certificates nor will shareholders be required to surrender or exchange stock certificates currently held.
