I purchased 500 shares today at 9 3/4. Before making the purchase, I asked my stock broker for his advice and opinion. In addition to reviewing the recent history and price decline, he told me this is a stock he owns but he purchased it at a much higher price. He explained the company is solid and manufactures a quality product but also reviewed the potential risk. The risk is Nike saying they're going to get into the premium sunglass market. This will be Oakley's first real competition. But he also said Nike hasn't explained in detail how they're going to participate in the market. For example, Nike could start from the beginning and develop their own sunglass technologies and distribution channels or they could purchase a sunglass manfacturer that is already successful (or several companies...whatever makes sense for them). At Oakley's current low price, they could be a prime candidate for this purpose.

I made the purchase based upon the strong company fundamentals. They're coming out with new lines soon and the summer months are coming up. A base has built up in the 10 dollar range and it looks like a real solid base. I feel the security should do very well within the next 6-12 months and is a real bargain at today's prices. Also, what if Nike begins to investigate purchasing other sunglass companies? Chances are very good that OO would react positively to the news.

I'd appreciate others comments regarding Nike and their plans.

Thanks and good luck
