I'd have to agree with you. It seems that they base their comments more on relativism than on substance, that is, that CDN will not enjoy similar growth rates going forward (in the EDA) due to the high level of market share they already own. As you pointed out, a 40% growth rate is enviable in most board rooms. If you haven't done so, take a look at Lehman's piece on the valuation trap comparing CDN and SNPS. I think they make some very valid valuation points in comparing these two companies. Lehman also covers SNPS so you might want to pull that report as well. Best of luck.
