Who's playing fast and loose with facts? you said
<This one is called wideband
CDMA. Does this mean good news for
Qualcomm? Nope. Qualcomm owns the
patents on narrowband CDMA. Qualcomm
is not nearly as major a player in the
wideband arena. Wideband versus
narrowband comes down to an issue of
increased capacity and a different
emphasis on what is transmitted. Wideband
is focused on providing data and
messaging services like two-way paging,
where narrowband is based on providing
voice services.*>
Now I wont be as arrogent and presuptious as you by saying WCDMA is just a pirated version of CDMA and CDMA2000. However the ownership of this technology is definetly being disputed. It's come down to a he said she said debate. The only objective source domoco(japenese telco)has stated they believe that over 1500 worldwide patents of Qcom do apply. That of course does not make it legal, but it does imply that the debate is far from over. I would also add that Erickson has done nothing to diferentiate CDMA2000(Qcom's wideband CDMA which you forgot to mention)from WCDMA. I could be wrong and you could be right but your implications are mis-leading and incorect.

Since you are an obvious Ericy proponent please explain to me how Ericy's WCDMA is diferent from CDMA2000(which will be available next year). They have lowered the chip rate so dont give that line of BS. I am a shareholder of almost all these companies(NOK.a,Ericy,LU,MoT etc) and believe that Ericy is full of S--t. I own the stock because I think they are about to make a deal with QCOM. This will prove the lack of credibility in their WCDMA arguments. They have no other choice.
