Jeff...

Interestingly enough.... just the other day I was in talks with my cable provider about an Internet cable transmission link (as a replacement for my existing conventional cable via phone-lines).

The cable spokesperson mentioned cable connection speeds of just slightly under a T-1 line connection. I believe a T-1 line is about five times the bandwidth of current 56K modems. Having started a decade or so ago with a 1200 BPS modem.... I can really appreciate the move to almost a zero-wait state inter-connectivity. Large graphics and complex renderings will greatly benefit from these high bandwidth download capabilities. My cable provider said Internet cable access will be available in my area in April. Other areas will no doubt soon follow. Think about the fluid graphic movement of TV and one can see we are currently only a few steps from that.

Bottom line.... looking forward to the day when I can audio/visually interact with an Avatar. Next step will be the androids... and at the rate we are going it won't take too long before everyone has one of those.

Thanks
