I don't think there is any problem with the offering. The stock movement, however irrational it might be, is because of big time profit taking. 8 million shares offering is nothing and the news is not even in the company press releases or news wires. As someone suggested on this thread, the sell-off might be because of some mutual funds locking profit. The disk drive industry is going to enjoy another 18 to 24 months up-cycle and I think Maxtor will take the market share away from Western Digital and Seagate in the desktop disk drive market.
