I think the evidence is pretty clear that splits have no lasting affect on stock price, but they sure get a lot of people excited in the short run. But if you look at the charts of stocks that have split you can't tell where the splits occurred simply by looking at the price behavior. Try it with CSCO or DELL to see what I mean. For me its just another reason to take a catnap.
