No republican is going to be elected president for 10 years minimum Bill. Dont kid yourself. And for the house/senate, who knows how long it will be until republicans gain control again - longer than 10 years. Any republican that really wants to win in a major race is going to have to really prove that he/she is independent of the far right. There will be a few republicans (like maybe Tom Campbell) who will eek by in 2000 just because prior to this impeachment thing he was perceived as unbeatable, so the dems didnt have a candidate ready. If there was someone available as a dem for Campbells district, they would win. In any case hes damaged goods within his constituency.
