The Intel ID Issue I have to say that I am surprised that Intel buckled under the pressure from the little privacy groups. Or Intel realized what we already knew - The ID within the chip wouldn't be popular with everyone. What's going to happen to the chips that already have the ID implemented if most of the public wants the disabled version? What if the OEMs want the chip w/o the ID implemented, but they already have quite a few w/it in stock??? By doing what they did today, Intel saved themselves from a lot of misery.
