Crusader and All: ( I could not present the table correctly, fixed fonts led to a loss of some words!)

It has gotten very interesting. The VSE seems to have lived up to is reputation!
Who are the players?
1. Fenway Resources Inc. they are responsible to inform shareholders of meaningful developments in their existing projects in a timely and truthful
manner.

2. Investors (Long) People who want the stock to go up (possibly down to accumulate)
So they can make money.

3. Short Investors People who want the stock to go down.
So they can make money Or avoid losing ("unlimited") large amounts of money.

4. Environmentalists People who appreciate natures (G-d's) gifts and carefully weightthe balance between progress and conservation.

5. Extreme Environmentalists
People who feel conservation is the only consideration

6. Businessmen Those who feel progress overrides conservation. (One can be extreme here as well)

7. Sleazy Politicians People who say every side is right. (So everybody should vote for me, or contribute to my campaign)

8. Responsible Politicians People who make the hard decisions which will benefit the majority of the people with the least damage to minority interests

9. Journalists People who report the news in an unbiased manner, (Responsible)or people who possibly serve some of the above player.(Shame !)

10. Internet Services People who report the news in an unbiased manner, (Responsible)or people who possibly serve some of the above player (Shame!)

11. Potential Investors Honest people who want to make money (Long or Short) and gather meaningful information. Many of the above want to influence this group.

12. People who just want to insure that everybody is getting the unbiased information with no personal financial gains. (This group is composed of saints or liars).

Hopefully I have presented the major players. Please add any category I've missed.
I have already identified myself as #2 and you, I believe, as #12.

I agree that each person must decide for themselves into which group they should place themselves.

Reread Fenway's report of the 1 24 1997 meeting in Palawan along with Canada Stockwatch report of J. Emilio Reynoso in the Palawan Sun Weekly paper.

Mr. Reynoso is a obviously a man of the people. He seemed obviously pleased the meeting hall majority of seats were occupied by the fledging masses wearing anti Fenway messages on their T shirts. He was disparaging of the other high ranking government attendees. His description of Mr. Wilson also reflected his distaste of capitalism and elitism, and contrasted with that of the heroic Mr. Mata. That is fine, he has I'm sure a good heart (sincerely) and writes poetically. I was somewhat surprised by his awareness of VSE trading of Fenway, and its prices. I would have thought it only mattered to him how the indigenous people were effected not investors.

I understand his feeling of insensitive capitalists making money at the expense of the "grassroots stakeholders". His anger was justified especially after the Fenway release referring to the "Damned Indians". He opens his article with defiance of the "colonial" characters . It was a almost a deliberate slap at a people with a history of colonialism (Spanish). It was either extremely insensitive of Fenway to refer to them as "Damn Indians" or plain stupid. The principles of Fenway are neither! It turns out another source added the inflammatory words. It was added by Mr. Woods of Canada Stockwatch! The very source you suggest we rely on for unbiased information! For what reason would Canada Stockwatch alter Fenway's release and then print Mr. Reynoso's article in which he undertook with righteous indignation.

Where was Stockwatch's ethical sense of releasing this more emotional than financial article without mentioning that some of the anger directed at Fenway was properly meant for Stock watch!

If one omits the emotional and prejudicial parts of the article, we are left with the business portion of the release which basically parallels the Fenway release. There is a dispute as to whether or not Mr. Mata had informed Fenway of his lack of opposition to the projects if certain conditions were meet! While Mr. Mata now expressed uncompromising opposition to the project, the council did NOT alter their Nov. 15th endorsement of the project. Mr. Reynoso implied that the powerful, elitist , ruling politicians were all for the project. He may well express the ethical concerns of us all, but for investors he has really said that the project has the support of key people. Hopefully the `indigenous people" will negotiate and they and the rest of the Philippine will benefit from having a major resource on heir island.
