The Oregon version of CalTrans stuck a stick of dynamite under their dead whale on the beach (so as to make bite sized pieces for the sea gulls) and it rained rancid whale in a 1/4 mile dia. Local TV filmed it and the talking head was rained upon. Next day the bulldozer pushed the remains back in at low tide.
