The MUSE pellet is about 2mm diameter by 4mm length. The applicator is about 3-4mm diameter and is inserted about one inch into the urethra (2.5 cm).

My prior comments about the applicator were that it should actually be larger and more blunt on the tip. I think this would cause less urethral trauma. Anyone who has inserted a catheter can verify that sometimes the larger catheter causes less pain, not more. However, this might be visually less acceptable than the present design.

In fact, I would say that the MUSE applicator is only half the diameter of the standard foley catheter. I still have the dummy applicator that I received a year ago from VVUS.

When I describe the process of MUSE to the patient verbally, there is initial resistance. When I show the patient the actual applicator (takes less than a minute) the resistance level drops like a rock.

It does not look intimidating.

I would also add that I do practice in an area with a lot of Asian patients. If I spoke Mandarin Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese, I would have this market wrapped up.

I see no less acceptance of Muse in the Asian population than in the caucasian population. (However, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Chinese herbalist down the road treats more ED than I do.)

In short, not a problem of penis size or urethral size.
