Allen, My D400Z has the capability of taking 10 pictures in rapid succession, though it requires that the pictures be taken at 640x480 resolution. It is incapable of taking megapixel images in this manner. When taking megapixel images, once you press the shutter button and the picture is taken, it takes approximately 4-5 seconds before the camera can take another picture - presumably because it needs to write the picture to the flash card.
