TORONTO, Jan. 25 /CNW/ - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY; NASDAQ:ATYTF)
today announced that the RAGE(TM) LT PRO mobile accelerator will bring
no-compromise 2D, 3D and video acceleration to the new Compaq Armada 1750
series of popularly priced, but full-featured notebook PCs.
The RAGE LT PRO is a perfect match for the new notebook PCs, meeting the
needs of demanding corporate users for the latest in graphics and multimedia
applications, including support for DVD drives. This is the second design win
for ATI with the Compaq line of corporate user notebook PCs.
The RAGE LT PRO is ideal for use with Intel's Mobile Pentium II
processors (300/333/366 MHz) which are powering Compaq's new Armada 1750
series of notebooks. Reflecting the increasing on-the-road computing and
communications needs of corporate users, the new Armada series is equipped
with the latest in RAGE LT PRO supported advanced functionality, including
optional DVD.
With this most recent design win, ATI continues to strengthen its fast
growing presence in the mobile graphics market. From a position of essentially
no presence in 1997, ATI has advanced to hold the Number 1 position in the
swiftly expanding 3D segment in mobile computing, and has quickly advanced to
the number four position in the overall notebook market for 1998. ATI's RAGE
LT PRO now powers the graphics of notebooks made by eight of the world's top
10 notebook computer manufacturers.
