Regards, Tom EXTON, Pa., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Electronics Inc announced today that its Board of Directors has been engaged in exploring current strategic alternatives for the company. Alternatives under consideration include the possible sale of all or a portion of XLCONNECT SOL stock or the distribution of such stock to IE's shareholders, the sale of IE divisions, and various mergers or acquisitions. IE said it has engaged financial advisors. Richard D. Sanford, Chairman and CEO of IE said, "Our goal is to maximize shareholder value. Our Board of Directors believes there is a significant gap between the company's current market valuation and its inherent value. Accordingly, the company is exploring a variety of strategic opportunities to enable its intrinsic worth to be more accurately reflected in the marketplace."
