Jack, my feeling is that this is a low risk entry point. Before the whole thread bursts into hysteria, let me qualify the statement. I got into a reasonably thorough due diligence on the satellite industry before committing heavily to LOR, and a little teaspoon of G*. I am pleased with my research and think that birds have a fabulous future. The only caveat is launch risk, which I underestimated. [Jack while you were on vacation, there was some Readware discussion--assume you know the 'mystery' man].
Long story short, I couldn't get comfortable with launch risk as the data seemed wildly contradictory. Readware offered enough evidence that I got comfortable. THIS IS NO SLAM ON READWARE. I, and I alone, ultimately concluded that we [the world] have been screwing around with rockets since WW2 and that ultimately the Russians and the US pumped a few gazillion more during the Cold War phase and that, basically, we were on Release 8.6 and the bugs just had to be worked out. Like the brilliant guy I am, I figured that the numb nut analysts on Wall Street had vastly overdiscounted for launch risk, making LOR and G* ripe for the picking. I bought a truckload of LOR at 13 watched it go to 36 or whatever and figured I was the smartest guy on earth. At 19, I figure I'm slightly above dull-normal--emphasis on slightly.
I still don't have a handle on why these damn firecrackers are so frigging hard to launch. And I know guys like Mr. A are some of the hardest working, smartest people around--so my $$$ rides. Here's to release 9.0! Tally ho all you rocket scientists: lock and load! (I absolutely detest political commentary, particularly when it interrupts one of my favorite threads.) That said, Mr. Adrenaline, have you considered using Congress for liquid propellants? Wouldn't that just do all of us a world of good? Best, Mike Doyle
