Cheeky,
I don't know what your problem is, but it's pretty apparent ... you sure don't like me.
When I saw that Cadillac letter, I immediately called up mom & dad.
My "ex" used to buy Cadillacs all the time. GM was one of his biggest clients, and he was able to get Cadillacs below book value.
In '92 (I think it was then.) Cadillac came out with a really snazzy, small model. I think it's called an STS. He wanted the Northstar version (which he got) cause he was real picky. He even knew what day he wanted it rolled off the line!
The company he owned then (he's since sold to a company listed on NYSE) ... developed equipment which tested the engines. They had a prototype of that particular engine as they were developing and fine-testing the testing equipment. (He unlocked a door to the room in the back to show me the engine. I did the appropriate oohs and aahs ... but, could really care less. I don't wanna know what's under the hood. Only want to know it works.)
In any event he bought the car when it first came out. Usually liked to wait a year cause he thought it took a while for bugs to get worked out. But he liked the new engine and new style so much, he jumped the gun.
Real pretty. Forest green and tan leather interior.
Last year he bought a new Cadillac ... same style, different color. Sold his car to my parents for $13,000. Very low mileage. EXCELLENT CONDITION. He was a fanatic about taking care of the car. Never used "self-serve". Always premium gas. Each time he got a fill-up ... he had them check out everything.(Drove me crazy.) Got the car detailed every 6 months. Loves my parents. Gave them a deal.
In any event ... I called up my parents tonight, and told them to check this out. May take a while, cause mom & dad aren't on the net, so I'm sending them the "Cadillac Letter" snail mail.
Obviously my family has more a stake in this than you do. Unless you have a old Caddy. My parents are not rich. Dad worked hard to shine up that car to make it look like it was brand new.
I want to make sure my parents don't run into a problem. You ... are just looking for anything that you can ... to try and humiliate me. You're not gonna succeed, kiddo.
I'll keep people apprised on what I hear.
Cheryl
P.S. As soon as I heard that the Eagle (Ford??) story last year was a sham & urban legend ... I posted that it was just an urban legend, with a link to Raleigh Martin's site. (You never posted a "thatta girl" when I did that, did you?)
If it ends up that this Cadillac story is the same ... I'll do what I did before. I don't want mis-information being spread. If info proves to be wrong ... I jump in to retract and correct.
If someone made this up ... and used the Cadillac logo on letterhead to do this. They're in deep doo-doo. And, they'll deserve it.

Finally ... PLANES WILL NOT FALL FROM THE SKY.
No one on this thread has ever said or implied this in any way, shape or form. You come up with these B.S. posts that imply that we have.
Also ... ELEVATORS WILL NOT CRASH TO THE GROUND.
And, who gives d*mn whether or not microwaves or VCR's work. I don't. It seems you do ... since you're the ONLY one who keeps on posting this cr*p ... implying it came from "us".
We did have discussion, or posted links a year ago trying to figure out what was real and what wasn't.
1) Planes WON'T fall from sky. 2) Elevators will NOT fall to ground. 3) Who gives a d*mn about microwaves and VCR's? We don't. You must. Cause you're the only one who posts this B.S. in a feeble attempt to discredit others.
Give it a rest already. |
