TTI Telecom and its Representative, PQ Africa, Awarded $6 Million NMS Project with Telkom South Africa

PETACH TIKVA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 25, 1999--

First Contract Award in South Africa to Supply National PTT with

Netrac Solution for Network Traffic Management

TTI Telecom Ltd. (NASDAQ/NM: TTILF) announced today that it has
been selected, together with its local representative PQ Africa, to
supply a turnkey network management system to South Africa's national
PTT, Telkom S.A. Ltd. ("Telkom"). The total value of the project is
approximately $6 million. TTI Telecom will provide its Netrac software
products for network traffic management together with customization,
training and support while PQ Africa will apply its expertise in
hardware and integration. The project is expected to be completed in
the second quarter 1999.

Telkom supplies telecommunications services to South Africa's
growing consumer and business-to-business market, with more than four
million lines to date. Currently, Telkom has undertaken a five-year
network expansion and modernization program to offer faster, more
affordable telephone access as well as new value-added services to the
business sector in anticipation of growing demands for telephony among
new and existing subscribers among the country's urban and rural
communities. Among the specific initiatives planned is a complete
overhaul of Telkom's telecommunications infrastructure, including the
addition of up to three million new lines (a 75% increase) and the
replacement of one million existing lines.

Telkom found in TTI Telecom's solution an ideal convergence of
real time exceptions monitoring to enable immediate reaction to
traffic anomalies, together with extensive performance and fault
management tools. This combination will provide Telkom with the tools
to effectively manage the rapid and vast changes that they are
introducing to their expanding network.

Zappy Von Plato, PQ Africa's Executive Director of
Telecommunications stated, "After we conducted a worldwide search for
a suitable partner, TTI Telecom provided the winning combination of
being able to offer an ideal solution within a very short time frame.
Most importantly, we were able to take Telkom to customer sites so
they could see for themselves how the Network Management System really
worked, and we were all impressed. Telkom and PQ Africa weren't just
searching for a solution, we were searching for a partner, and that's
what we found in TTI Telecom."

Commenting on the award Meir Lipshes, Chief Executive Officer of
TTI Telecom said, "This contract illustrates the success of our
strategy of teaming up with strong strategic partners,
telecommunication equipment manufacturers, computer vendors and large
communications infrastructure companies which are known and
established in target countries, like PQ Networks in South Africa. In
this way we expect to continue to add to the growing number of
multi-million sized contracts."
