Several of Dr. King's advisers were members of a Communist front group, the National Lawyers Guild. While I think that it is poor judgement to play footsie with communists, I don't think that that fact discredits the SCLC. Similarly, I have not yet been convinced that the various charges against some of the people involved in this matter, even if true, are relevant to the main question. and I have not been convinced that they are true in the first place, in the sense of there being an organized conspiracy. Finally, although the Foster matter was weird and deserved examination, it is indeed "guilt by association and innuendo" to identify all of those who have a beef with Clinton with the disreputable few who have made reckless charges in that matter. I for one think that it is deplorable to make hysterical charges, when so little can be ascertained, and even Ken Starr says he can find nothing there.
