Jim, All, DoCoMo's aggressive 3G deployment schedule reflects their desperate need to be able to compete with the new cdmaOne competitors in Japan. You can bet that the comparison of Sprint's 4th quarter new subscribers (840,000) to those of ATT Wireless (about half as many) is not lost on them.

I found this part of the release VERY interesting: NTT DoCoMo will hold a meeting to explain details of the procurement in Tokyo on Jan. 28.

That is the date for Ericy's earnings release and rumored announcements. If Q has negotiated a deal with Ericy, I would expect it would be announced by Ericy at that time to offset the impact of what should be a pretty lousy profit report.
