IMHO You have to hang around for the reward. I think Compaq building value in a wholly owned Internet company and then spinning it off is a great idea. IPOing AV right now would give up a great opportunity. Obewon stated the strategy in simple language.

If AV in managed well, it could have maybe a 5 to 6 billion or better value when they spin it off to shareholders. I believe that is about what Compaq paid for DEC.
