Greg - Re:"Suspect stock may double from current levels"

I'd love it! I Own it!

Didn't you have a short position on Intel at about $80? Or was it Brian? I've confused you two before, so I apologize.

Re:"Don't forget about their Germany plant"

What Germany Plant? They have just cleared the site and construction won't begin until spring. I believe production won't commence until early 1999.

Re:"AMD's capacity is 6300 wafers/week."

This was the rated capacity in 1994 when the plant was built - assuming 3 layer metal processes.

Five layers of metal plus a local interconnect require 4 or more thin film deposition steps (my guess is 6 assuming vias use tungsten plugs), five more masking steps (3 vias/2 metal), four (or more) CMP steps to planarize the intermetal oxides and aluminum thin films, plus other things I may not know about.

This requires additonal equipment and longer processing times, all of which impact (negatively) the throughput of the fab, thereby decreasing wafer outs/week.
