Bravo, bravo. Love that Chicken Little analogy.
Like I said before, if these guys are truly paranoid about privacy, they wouldn't be forking over their credit cards to waiters at restaurants, attendants at gas stations, or clerks at Fry's Electronics. Or even worse, they wouldn't make one single purchase online, because all e-commerce requires the use of a credit card! And that credit card not only has the customer's name, but also the address!
If people don't believe me, then perhaps they should tell me how I get Victoria Secret catalogs in my mail. I once went in with my sister to buy our mother a nice bathrobe for Christmas, and I used my credit card to do just that. I gave no one at Victoria Secret my address, but lo and behold, here come the catalogs! Does that mean my privacy has been betrayed, since now people from the mailman to my roommates will be able to see my name on that catalog?
So what's the difference between this and using the CPU ID, which is now disabled by default, to make a purchase over the Net?
