info to consider my
concerns as legit.

Your miss-informed about
VAR referrals. Often
they are made based on
specialty that is specific
to an industry or application
platform. With generic box
pushers, you may have a point.

Referrals are often based on
industry groups that have
expressed satisfaction with
a VAR in their feedback to
Compaq. I know at least one
example of this where Compaq
told one of my supply houses
that their customer in the
same industry had good results
with his VAR. Considering how
often Compaq calls me to ask
how happy I am with registered
service calls, they must keep
some statistics on this feedback.
