I think that there was a 2-step process internally - first create altavista as a wholly owned sub, then take the sub public. I have not worked through all the machinations yet, there was not enough detail in the public info to figure out exactly what the steps are.

I like the fact that CPQ shareholders get ownership in the new company.

I agree with Lynn, I think they were planning this for Friday but someone leaked it, so they pre-emptively announced. Still expecting good numbers tomorrow.
