this explanation just seems too easy/simple to be true. there are a billion other financial phenomena that can result in rise in blue-chip stocks, no? i think that instead of foreign investment, it might be more amateurs getting into stocks (instead of mutual funds, cd's, or social security), and the same hunch that tells us that foreigners would buy household names, also tells us that amateurs would buy household names. has it even been firmly established that foreign investment tends to go into blue-chips?

just keeping you on your toes. :-) and congrats on that csco purchase at 66; how's that for mutual post-facto back-patting in the fine tradition of this thread?
