You need a certain price limit to trade on various exchanges. For the AMEX you need a minimum of about 3. For the Nasdaq you need a minimum of 4 or 5. A stock must maintain this price for a certain amount of time in order to be listed on the AMEX or Nasdaq. Those are the rules.
