Mark B. and Tim,

Since you guys gave me so much grief at the beginning of the year when I suggested that INTC had better prospects than PTEC over the next 6 months I feel obligated to report the 1 month score card.

YTD results as follows;

PTEC down 2.3% from 16.125 to 15.75

INTC up 24.5% from 130 to 162

Tim, your sarcastic remarks that I should sell PTEC and buy more INTC was some of the best advice you could have given. Unfortunately, I'm sure you didn't follow it.

After running up 25% I now would say that PTEC and INTC have about the same potential for the remainder of the year. I definitely think INTC will go up another 25% to the 200 range and I think PTEC has a good chance of going up 25% to the 20-21 range. Unfortuantely, there still remains a chance that PTEC will continue to be ignored and remain dead money for the remainder of the year. As I have continue to profess, PTEC will eventually get noticed because strong fundamentals don't get ignored forever. However, I have witnessed many significantly undervalued stocks remains so for very long periods of time before finally getting noticed and reaching their fair value. It even took years for WS to notice INTC and give it its fair due.

I definitely am not expecting great things from PTEC in the immediate future and that's why I cut my position in half. With limited funds I can't affort to have too much dead money laying aruond. There are too many easy pickin's in this incredible tech stock run-up which present immediate opportunities. It really is amazing that a company as solid as PTEC could be in a steady down trend since October while at the same time the tech stocks have gone ballistic! Oh well, I always said that in the short run the market is not rational.

BTW, I guess we'll have to wait another year for the "January effect". Small caps are once again off to a slow start. Sooner or later it will be the year of the small caps. It has been predicted so for 10 of the last 5 years <g>.

Good luck to all,

FF
