( BW)(AGISS-SOFTWARE)(AGCR) Year 2000 Wire/AGISS Announces Major I.T. Outsourcing Win
    Business Editors/Hi-Tech Writers
    OTTAWA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 1999--
Multi-year Project Could be Worth Several Million Dollars
AGISS Corporation (NASDAQ-BB:AGCR) announces a significant assignment for its AGISS Software Corporation subsidiary.
AGISS has been chosen by one of America's largest systems integrators to help set up and run a state-of-the-art data-processing facility to support a new international customer service center for a major North American financial services company. (Neither the identity of the client nor of the systems integrator can be released at this time. The client has requested privacy due to the strategic nature of this new operation.)
The initial phase is worth approximately $400,000 CDN, but the assignment could be worth as much as $1.5 million per year for four years, for a total value of up to $6 million. The work starts immediately.
    The Way of the Future
AGISS CEO Robert Sowah says the nature of the contract, and the relationship with the systems integrator, validate AGISS Software's business model. "This an excellent example of the benefits of our strategic approach, our business model, and our corporate culture. Especially in the Information Technology sector, the new way of doing business is much more collaborative. Clients look to our companies as partners, doing 'whatever it takes' to get them safely to the new millennium. The best way to do this is to assemble highly flexible, responsive, collaborative solution delivery teams which emphasize strategic alliances as well as in-house professional resources. The AGISS team features nearly two dozen of the best hardware, software and professional services suppliers in the world. In this case a very large systems integrator made a strategic decision to outsource this assignment to us, on the client's behalf, rather than assembling a team like ours from scratch."
    Year 2000 Readiness
One of AGISS's strengths is in preparing I.T. infrastructures for the Year 2000. Mr. Sowah says these skills will be valuable on the assignment: "As we proceed to help set up the new data-center, there are many computer hardware, software and network decisions to be made. We'll be watching carefully for Year 2000 compliance, assembling a systems infrastructure that's ready for the new millennium."
