Thanks for the great data post and chart link....

While this is extremely negative for all commodities short term, it appears to be a sign of demand contraction combined with excess production that will have to be eliminated.

This will devastating impacts on commodity exporting economies, but short to intermediate term, will prove incredibly bullish for net importing economies (like ours). Of course agriculture and steel will prove to be the exceptions to this scenario.

The dollar will strengthen against other currencies, with exception possibly of the Euro, and will likely apply additional pressure on gold and silver.
