Saint Louis -- As many as one million people may be coming to Saint Louis to see Pope John Paul II when he begins an historic visit to the city January 26. And more than 100,000 are expected to jam the Trans World Dome to capacity for Mass on January 27, creating the largest indoor event in US history. Combine that with a welcoming visit from the President of the United States and many other national and international dignitaries, more than 2,000 media representatives, and an extra 700 police and presidential staff members coming to the city, and it could be a logistical nightmare.
That's where Convergys steps in. Convergys will play an important role as a member of the team supporting the upcoming Papal visit.
Convergys has been retained by the Archdiocese of Saint Louis to complement its efforts as an auxiliary support team to answer the many thousands of calls generated by this huge and historic event.

During the project, when a caller seeking assistance wants to reach an operator, Convergys employees will use prepared scripts to evaluate the caller's need and provide information on such functions as the schedule of events, location of event facilities and restrictions, transportation routes, and other general information. Convergys will also support the activities of the Papal Visit Volunteer office in coordinating training and assignments.
