Tim,
<<my paperboy was also bullish on INTC...>>
Is this meant to be a put down on paperboys are on youth?? Neither case excludes one from knowing their tech stocks. BTW, waiting for the early signs of an uptrend (i.e. like when it starts to move up outside a tight trading rang, 15-16 in this case) is a strategy used by many of the most experienced and successful investors.
Here is some more "wisdom" to use your words. When a stock has great earnings potential, a dominant market position, great financials, superior products, excellent management, etc., AND WS's attention it usually tends to go up. Like I said, I have seen many companies have everything except the last item going for them and they languished for quite some time. The good news is that eventually fundamentals get noticed. The bad news is that WS usually doesn't give respect to companies overnight.
<<...you think INTC is a much better stock to own than PTEC.>>
I have only said this with respect to the short/intermediate term. I don't understand why you can't see difference between a speculative investment (i.e. one that may start going up any quarter now) and one that's providing immediate returns (and I am not referring only to INTC).
You seem to take it very personally that I don't see PTEC exploding anytime soon. I tried to give you good advice earlier in the year with respect to INTC based on fundamentals. Perhaps you should spend more time on the INTC thread reading and less time trying to pimp PTEC like you did with your loaded question to Jules a couple weeks ago. Perhaps also you should open you horizons and be more open to differing opinions.
Let me ask you something, do you see any stock that is currently a better investment in the market or is PTEC the single best bet right now??? And in case you are wondering, at this point I don't think INTC is the single best investment over the next 12 months.
Finally, the year is still young. Perhaps in 6 months I will look like an idiot and you will look like a genius. I am not nearly as arrogant and closed minded as you think. In fact just the opposite. I am always willing to amdit when I make a mistake and I value all opinions, especially those that disagree with mine.
