looking for insight
OK, here's my situation. I have been reading and studying everything that has been recommended on this forum since about Jan 1. I realized just how correct the opinions, of the knowledgeable members, of this forum are, very quickly. The trouble is I can't learn everything all at once, and I happen to be in a rapidly evolving stock situation.
I have been accumulating shares of VRTX for some time and the company is rapidly approaching a major milestone. It will be launching its first product, a protease inhibitor for treating HIV, by the middle of april (assuming FDA approval, etc, etc). Now, it is my opinion that this will have an immediate positive impact on the price of the stock. The trouble is, I'm not quite good enough at charting, yet, to make a great decision about when to write some covered calls. I realize enough to wait for the big volume gain but, I was hoping I could some more in depth analytical feedback from this forum.
Also, as a side project I chose TDFX as an up and coming stock. I researched the stock last weekend, and was too shy to pull the trigger Monday morning. Of course, the stock jumped up $1.50. In my defense, I'm new at this, and the move was rather quick. So, I ended up chasing this one at 15 1/4 today (like I said my timing ain't great yet). Earnings were released, and were better than expected (0.13 vs. 0.10 expected high. I think this company still has some upward movement but, I would appreciate other opinions. |
