Wow, there were waaay too many good posts today to try to respond to them one by one.

I don't know, I sure hope CB does.

Thanks very much. I was aware of this second point. Does anyone know what kind of service ATHM is rolling out? For some reason I was under the impression that it was all over two-way cable. For that matter, does anyone know what MSPG's KNOLOGY offering is? Again, I thought it was two-way cable.

Does this include installation & modem purchase or rental? I realize that these costs are often waived... You make some other very good points BTW.

Here's some links to GTE and BellSouth's ADSL pages, including cost info. Be forewarned, the GTE pages generated mondo JavaScript errors for me. GTE's pricing is graduated starting at the top with platinum which costs an arm & a leg and going down to the "cast iron" plan which still costs too much.

Bell South:

This page should have links to SBC's DSL pricing

Don't discount the "always on" connection that DSL & cable both offer. I think this is a significant benefit as the speed. I am LAN-connected to a T-something here at work and as a result I hate to use my 33.6 modem at home. The fat pipe here makes a huge difference as does the always on connection. I believe that the always on connection will fundamentally change the way people use the Net. It will become much more important in their lives.

I enjoy listening even if I don't understand all of it. Thanks for being polite and offering to take it offline, but I prefer to eavesdrop on you if I can!

Jinx3D asked for my thoughts on earnings:
I think they will meet or beat the number just because that's what MSPG does. In the past they have been careful to offer guidance to analysts that prevents big surprises, at least bad ones anyway. Personally I don't try to guess the # beforehand, I just see what it is and listen to the CC.

Nice to see all the activity here.

Peace,
Mr Bones
