GREAT NEWS for ALL WCTI investors!!
I just got off the phone with Dan Lunt at WCTI. We talked for 10-15 minutes. He said to expect about two press releases before launch date! He said that while no TV advertising was really being planned, he mentioned that appearances on TV may be in works. He said there were talks with CNBC and MSNBC going on, but he would not give me any definite dates or times. He said that no stock split is forseeable right now. However, he said that they would keep a close eye on stock price and that if stock became TOO expensive, he would definitely consider a split to make WCTI more affordable to the investor. I asked him about the Harvest search technology that was mentioned a few posts back. He said that they've changed their thinking on this and they're approaching it from a "harvesting" standpoint and a more "traditional" way as well. The harvesting search method is based on "mini-portals" (other sites that will implement WordCruncher technology) providing certain results and reporting them back to the main engine (i.e. SpyHop). He said this will be one method used, which would increase search speeds. Certain sites would sign up to implement WordCruncher and this would take off much of the processing burden from SpyHop. He also said that certain sites which carried content in specific areas would be queried for search results. I was unclear exactly what he meant, but I got the jist of it.

He said that their Host Servers will be maintained by a company called Digital Island. He praised them and said that they (WCTI) will have a strong network presence on the Web. He said the initial install would be in New York with later installations to include Santa Clara and Hong Kong! I asked him how WCTI was prepared to handle the increased future traffic to spyhop.com and he told me that they were more than ready to handle the anticipated heavy traffic that will inevitably flow to spyhop.com once the launch is here, and once word gets out. He said that they have plans to install additional resources when needed.

Finally, I asked him about the rumors about buyout offers from Sun Microsystems and Hewlett Packard. He told me that that got turned into something more than it was. He did confirm interest on the part of HP and Sun Micro, but said no buyout offers came from them. He did say that they had a buyout offer from someone else, but he did not mention who they were. I asked him if he would ever sell WCTI in the near future, and he sounded like he didn't want to... To paraphrase..." I didn't build this company with the intention of selling it off.. I built it with the intention to become the leader in search technology... Other portals spend tons of money in heavy advertising campaigns trying to build up brand loyalty.. But, they lack in the technology that sets them apart from the rest of the pack.." Basically, he's saying that they have no staying power! WCTI has the technology, the others are just content providers... which these days are becoming a dime a dozen!! At the end, I expressed my opinion that he should NOT sell WCTI and that they will be able to stand ALONE in the internet world!!
