On this day in 1955, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This midi actually has Eddie's riff on it, and it's pretty accurate. Worth the wait. web.wt.net The story goes that Michael Jackson asked Eddie to come by one day, Eddie sat down in the studio and did the solo. Was not paid a penny. I remember the first time I heard "Beat It", I was at a club in L.A. The solo blew me away. I thought it was some "new" guy that sounded like Eddie. Turned out it was just Eddie. One time I asked a friend of mine that was a guitar player what equipment Eddie had so that he could make his guitar sound that way. He answered, "His hands."
