But Amzn is a distributor not a manufacturer
really and thats the tail end of the chain, so its a lot less clear. They have to invent a lot
of stuff themselves as Dell had to do. Nonetheless with a good mgmt team and enough
effort you can get the job done.

I know your are a specialist in this area and I was wondering how difficult you thought this may be. I do agree it is doable but the technology is not here as of yet.

Having said that,
I dont think Amzn is anywhere near complete in their implementation of the model and
they need to stay in business long enough to get it done....


Agreed. The model keeps changing as the competitive environment changes.
