"Dave is a bad influence <ggg>."
Yeah, you guys help with network support and I pay you back by coaxing the green stuff from your wallets <g>!
Ain't the internet funny that way? Start with companies that aren't trying to make profits (buy, onsale), add essentially 0 marginal shipping on large orders for non-huge products (buy), throw in the internet sales tax moratorium, lots of corporate rebates, and best price match gaurentees, and there's nothing like the internet for inveterate bargain hunting.
This won't last forever to this absurd degree, since the need for some profits will eventually rear its ugly head, and governments will not (or certainly should not) treat net sales from other sales differently for long. Even so, I case my vote with ZP and Sean--buying from good vendors on line simply can't be beat.
I would enjoy looking at buy's books from 98-2000. I wonder how much of a go they'll make from advertising, etc. If they keep it up, they (and others like them) will be AMZN's worst nightmare.
BTW, MS Money 99 actually nets at -$1.05, thanks to the $15 rebate <g!> |
