A better day today, and I've been listening to speeches of a certain political figure who has been speaking about his opposition to trash deliveries from NY.

My view is -- of course, it is politically sound for him to be adamant publicly about his opposition. But after listening closely again last night, I thought I might have picked up on a smooth win-win with constituents as well as contributors in the trash industry. He is opposed to these trash shipments from NY by barge. He has a strong push against the trash shipments by barge.

Wouldn't it be nice for him to be able to say that he kept the trash off the waterways and he imposed strict limits by rail?

Does anyone else find this interesting? Am I way off in believing this could somehow have an impact on NYRR?
