Smart ... Why do people assume that Coke's stock ought to go up immediately after Pepsi reports good results? You assume more people are drinking soda and therefore Coke will benefit. Perhaps others assume Pepsi has stolen market share from Coke. Can't this same logic apply to software? And I am not saying I expect poor results from PSFT - I am not sure what to expect at all.
