It is anybody's guess how the Senate trial will proceed and what course it will take. About the only thing that we can be sure of is that the Republicans will end up in a pretty sorry shape! So, as I said earlier, just relax and enjoy the show!
Hey Dipy, Try this thought on for size. The "show", as you put it, has been going on for quite a while now and, as you continually point out, seems destined for an indeterminately lengthy future run. The executive and legislative branches of government are up to their cahones in this ongoing farce and getting nothing else "accomplished". But guess what? The economy is booming, the stock market is making new highs, people are comfortable and happy with their personal lives and the current state of the country. Could it be that voters will perceive that politicians of all stripes are becoming increasingly more irrelevant in modern society? When they are preoccupied with "doing to each other", as is the case now, they have little or no time to "do unto us". Both the Democratic tax and spending plans and the GOP's social agenda are checkmated in the current political environment. I'm quite grateful, actually, and hope it continues indefinitely.
