Croc, Went out paddling Sunday afternoon, came 'round the back of a little island near our beach, and ran into the rarest of sights on these waters - another guy paddling a kayak! An Aussie fellow, sailboat-builder by trade, just finished doing some repairs on the boat for the owner, a FedEx pilot who I've heard of, but never met. Apparently he has 2 boats, a single and a double, which don't get used nearly enough. We hung out on the water for a while, watching the sunset and doing boat-talk. Nice and very rare to run into somebody who actually understands what most around here consider to be a very strange obsession. It seems there are a few others around, though, which is very good news - maybe I can actually find someone to come along on some of the longer trips I've been wanting to try. Maybe I should get him to join SI; then there'd be 3 of us. Steve
