I'd rather have Schein out there doing the selling than BLTI trying to build a sales organization from the ground up. Just the investment in going to exhibitions is substantial. If BLTI can position itself as a manufacturer, and Schein can make the sales, then BLTI doesn't have the overhead problems of a sales division. Manufacturing, when you have a niche product with patent protection, can be very profitable. Also, if Schein works out, it might give BLTI more time and money to devote to getting some of their other products to market, like DermaLase and Laser Skin Toner. I think an established distributor makes a lot of sense for BLTI. Their worries end at the loading dock if Schein is the right fit for BLTI.
