If you're going to provide EBPP services for all of Yahoo's customers, you're going to need a lot of infrastructure. Better to spend the money up front and make good first impressions on your new subscribers than to go through what AOL did a few years ago. I'd be curious to know how much the online brokers have invested in servers and networks.
