On the other hand, if the stock is going up on its own merit, why bother splitting it at this time? Would it not be a good idea to keep the trump card when the bad times hit the market, or say if AMD starts getting unexpectedly good yields on K7 after June 19999? Just another viewpoint that would be in favor of postponing a split....
