Fact is they both deliver to the other things that are difficult to replicate...Portal delivers, over just another connection, lots of eyes....CF lots of functionality, capability, connections and customer support. Let's hope they have the self service customer service system complete or costs will escalate quickly. Yahoo gets a "no cost", first to market/best product and lots more eyes,...staying longer, and more advertising revenue, and a transaction-based annuitized revenue stream that will become huge over time. CF gets clients they need to plumb for, and service.

I am not worried about the plumbing cost or servicing rampup costs, but I sure hope they didn't have to pay too dearly for the privilege! I worry a little that they announced an imminent portal deal, then had to go get one, giving the portal leverage in establishing terms.
