Business Wire - January 19, 1999 11:10
LONDON/NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1999--Citron, Inc. (OTC BB: CTRN), a New York and London based internet marketing company, announced that it will have a link to Crossroads Centre's web site, www.crossroadsantigua.org. Crossroads Centre at Antigua is a non-profit organization that was founded by legendary guitarist Eric Clapton. A spokesperson for Citron noted that this link is expected to increase exposure and traffic to both Citron's new style web site as well as www.crossroadsantigua.org. Citron's management also believes that this link will attract a great deal of attention from the Company's affiliates. Crossroads Centre treats adult men and women, (over the age of 18), who are dependent on mood altering drugs and alcohol. Crossroads Centre's goal is to offer comfort, support, a new sense of well-being and a true direction toward a lifetime of recovery from addiction. Patients will stay approximately 28 days for their course of treatment. It is an intensive program designed to include a combination of the most successful treatment methods and program standards of Europe and the United States. The treatment will be provided by a carefully selected team of professionals, recruited from around the world. Once the patient is admitted, a physical, nutritional and chemical dependency assessment is administered. Treatment must begin by getting people well enough - physically and emotionally - to take on the challenges involved in treatment. From this, a treatment plan is drafted for that individual. Then, individual and group therapy begins. At the end of the treatment Crossroads wants to try to ensure that each person in recovery is connected back in that home world - through Aftercare, A.A. and other support groups - to provide an ongoing and highly supportive reinforcement to their sobriety. Citron, Inc. will provide a link to Crossroads Centre's web site; the Centre's site is currently under construction. crossroadsantigua.org will make it possible for people to learn more about Crossroads. The site will also make it possible for donations to be made to Crossroads Centre at Antigua. These donations are tax deductible for both U.S citizens and citizens of countries whose tax codes allow the deduction. The Internet offers an immense accessibility to the world, providing a greater medium to reach the worlds population and assist with the recognition of and assistance to charities. A spokesperson for Citron said, "We are proud to provide a link to Crossroads and we hope more people and/or companies on the Internet start to work in a positive way to help different charities." The link should be completed in the next 6-8 weeks and will be announced at that time. Other web sites that are linked to Citron will also be able to post banners for Crossroads' site, enabling tax deductible donations or further learning about the Crossroads Centre. Citron Inc. is an Internet marketing company which will use a network of affiliate web sites to gain exposure for the products and services of Citron's clients. Citron's client base is made up of corporations producing products that are ideal to market throughout the Internet. These products currently include an anti-impotence/sexual stimulant cream (a market accelerated with Pfizer Inc.'s [NYSE: PFE] introduction of Viagra), vitamins, health products, unique and humane phone card systems, discounted travel, and more. Citron's business strategy is to build a network of affiliate web sites throughout the Internet. This network will expand each product's visibility and increase their exposure throughout the Internet. Many Internet sites such as Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO), Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN), uBid (NASDAQ: UBID), SkyMall (NASDAQ: SKYM), and eBAY (NASDAQ: EBAY) receive traffic from a substantial percentage of the more than 74 million Internet users in the world today.
