Surge in On-Line Sales of E-Mail VoiceLink Software
Prompts Upward Revision of Financial Projections for
1999

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 27, 1999--In response to extraordinary on-line sales of the Company's
E-mail VoiceLink software, Softlink (OTC BB:SFLK - news) will announce revised 1999 financial projections early next
week.

''Both the volume of on-line sales, and the number of ISPs selling our software, have been considerably higher than initially
projected,'' said Softlink's President, Johnson Lee. ''Having heard about this good news, our investors now want to know how
these developments can be expected to affect our bottom line -- the revised financial forecasts are intended to help answer this
and other fiscal questions.''

Softlink's revised 1999 financial projections will reflect several developments which have increased on-line sales:

adoption rates of E-mail VoiceLink by the more than 2 million subscribers to Dallas-based Matchmaker.com have
surpassed original estimates;
accelerated on-line sales of E-mail VoiceLink by European ISP, World Online;
accelerated on-line sales of E-mail VoiceLink by Latin American ISP, Prima.

''Softlink is encouraged by the recent sales increases as a signal from the market of significant unmet demand for our products.
This is the best affirmation of the Company's aggressive marketing strategy, as Softlink seeks to set a higher standard for E-mail
communication.''
