Bad, Bad Dog, E*Trade...

I am a Platinum E*Trade customer. At 10:12 EST today I placed a market order and waited for a confirmation. None came. After 20 minutes I started calling the Platinum customer service number. It was busy for at least 24 minutes, during which time I also tried the regular customer service number which was also busy.

I finally got through to the regular number. A metallic voice said "ten minute wait." I listened to muzak for ten minutes. At the 11th minute the phone line disconnected.

I immediately re-dialed the regular number and got through. "Fifteen minute wait." No thank you.

Back to the Platinum number. I got through after two or three tries. I typed in my account number and waited. Immediately a confirmation came up my computer screen. I got through to a real person at about 11:08. She checked. The trade had gone through at 10:12.
